Julie, founder of Oak Creek Pet Care and Training is a true professional. Her passion in life is animals, and has been working with them for well over 20 years. She started her career volunteering with non-profit Organizations in Northern California, concentrating on rescue work with big cats which is were she meet Sahara her 18 year old tiger who she has raised and trained since she was just a cub at 6 weeks After making the enormous commitment to raise Sahara her and her family moved to Fallon NV where she bought 10 acres to build a compound that would house unwanted and or abused big cats. While in NV Sahara acted as an ambassador for all big cats and helped to educate the public about endangered species. Part of their mission was to teach responsible ownership of exotic and companion animals and for people to realize that love is not enough. Through hands-on experience with the animals as well as through her educational programs, the public became more enlightened about the importance of wildlife and their habitats. While working to educate the public about endangered species she was also the head elephant trainer for 2 Asian elephants, Bertha and Angel. After moving back to California to be closer to her family Sahara and her moved to a 175 acre ranch where many retired tigers from Marine World Africa USA live. While living with the retired tigers she was responsible to provide care to them 7 days a week for all 10 tigers living on the property including Sahara. During that time she opened her home to pets as an alternate to kennels for pet owners and continues to train dogs.
Julie held a Class C USDA license while she was living with her tiger, Sahara in Nevada which has always been in excellent standings, which is difficult to achieve and something she is very proud of so you can be assured that your pet will be in the best care possible in in very loving, caring hands when they are vacationing at Oak Creek Pet Resort. Julie is a true animal lover who will strive to make your best friend feel loved and pampered while they are her at our resort.
